The Vizsla in general is an intelligent, versatile, active hunter who loves to live with its family. They can offer you much pleasure, but if neglected just as much misery. We encourage all potential Vizsla owners to become well informed about the breed and dog training techniques before bringing that cute puppy home.

There are some health and temperament problems cropping up in this breed. Generally this happens to all dog breeds that become popular. Random mating of Vizslas do not necessarily produce puppies that grow up to be stable dogs with good health. Any animal with poor temperament or health issues can tax your patience and budget. Vizslas can live15 years and are long term commitments. Investigating the breeders of potential puppy's should be your main objective.

Each puppy in a litter is different. You must understand that not every puppy you see will be suitable for your needs.

Being informed of the intelligence and activity level if a Vizsla should make owning one less of a surprise for your family. We encourage all Vizsla owners to become more active with their dogs. We have found that a well trained and active Vizsla is a happy Vizsla.
